Francesco Astone

Francesco earned his law degree at ‘La Sapienza’ (Rome) in 1985, summa cum laude and has been admitted to the Bar in 1989, and before the Supreme Court of Italy­­­­­­­ (2002); he is a Certified Auditor (1999). His professional experience is very relevant in litigation, at both lower and supreme court levels, and in arbitration, both national and international. He provides counsel to companies in matters relating to extraordinary transactions, banking, finance, legal risk assessments, insolvency. He is a full professor of Institutions of Private Law and teaches Advanced Private Law at the University of Foggia (Italy). His research and publications concern the interpretation of the law, general clauses, contracts, privacy. He is currently conducting a research project on artificial intelligence and is a member of the editorial board of Giurisprudenza Costituzionale and Foro Napoletano. He was visiting professor at the University of Edinburg, School of Law (2017/2019).
